Pakistani Immigrant Wins Election In Wisconsin

Syed Abbas, a muslim immigrant from Pakistan, was elected as a District 12 member of the Madison Common Council in Wisconsin.

Abbas defeated Diane Farsetta in the General Election on April 2, 2019. Abbas received 1,958 votes, while Farsetta received 1,749 votes.
