Gavin Newsom’s aunt’s marriage to Nancy Pelosi’s brother-in-law does not in any way make Nancy Pelosi Gavin Newsom’s aunt. An aunt is the sister of one’s father or mother, or the wife of one’s parent’s brother (or sister now that same-sex marriage is legal)..a person’s uncle-by-marriage’s sister-in-law is not that person’s aunt.
