Muslim Incumbent Advances To General Election, Runs Unopposed

Ako Abdul-Samad is running for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 35. Abdul-Samad has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007.

Ako Abdul-Samad recently advanced from the primary election to the general election on November 3, 2020. Abdul-Samad defeated Calvetta Williams in the primary election. Abdul-Samad received 80.8% (1,870) of the votes, while Williams received only 19.1% (441) of the votes.
