Salina Chowdhury is a muslim woman running for a seat on the Foxborough School Committee in Massachusetts.
According to reports, Salina and her husband, Anisul Chowdhury, decided to get involved in politics after Donald Trump won the 2016 election. They attended the state Democratic convention as delegates. They work to get more muslims registered to vote and Salina is a former member of Jetpac, an organization aimed at getting muslims elected at all levels of the U.S. Government.
Two candidates are running for the School Committee seat to be vacated by three-term Committee member Beverley Lord. Salina Chowdhury and Michelle Raymond will face off in the election on May 4th, 2020.
