Emgage Action Endorses Bernie Sanders
Emgage Action has endorsed Bernie Sanders for President of the United States.
Emgage Action is a political organization with the goal of increasing the number of muslims serving in the United States government at all levels.
Over the last several years Emgage has endorsed many muslims such as Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, along with non-muslims who they feel will represent their muslim values.
Emgage announced their endorsement of Sanders on Twitter:
More than any other presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders has built an historically inclusive movement: one that is grounded in the belief that all humans are equal and worthy of a dignified life. We are proud to stand by his side. @BernieSanders
Bernie Sanders replied stating he was honored to receive the endorsement of Emgage Action:
It is an honor to receive the endorsement of @EmgageAction. While Donald Trump has demonized our Muslim communities, our movement is working to bring Muslims and people of all backgrounds into the political system.
Emgage Action is just one of many muslim political organizations seeking to increase the number of muslims in office. Unsurprisingly Emgage is not the first of these groups to endorse Sanders. The Muslim Caucus of America and The Muslim Democratic Club of New York both recently endorsed Sanders, as have most of the muslim candidates (past and present) running for office. It is more than clear that Sanders has the muslim vote.
