Muslim Convert Running For Maricopa County Board Of Supervisors
Deedra Abboud, Arizona Democratic Party Vice Chair and former U.S. Senate candidate, is running for Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in District 2.
Abboud is a muslim convert who was born in Arkansas. She moved to Arizona in 1998.
Abboud worked for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) & the Muslim American Society (MAS). Abboud served as director for the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-AZ) from 2001 to 2005. She was director of the Arizona chapter of the Muslim American Society’s (MAS) Freedom Foundation from 2005 to 2009.
