Two Muslims Fight For Congressional Seat In Georgia
Rashid Malik and Nabilah Islam, both Bangladeshi muslims, are two of the seven Democratic candidates for U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 7th Congressional District.
Malik was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He came to the United States in 1979.
Islam is the daughter of Bangladeshi immigrants.
Both Malik and Islam are huge Hillary Clinton supporters. Islam worked as the Deputy Southern States Finance Director for Hillary for America.
In several Facebook posts, Malik calls on muslims to “come forward” and “rebuild OUR America” and asks his fellow muslims, “What are we afraid of?”
Malik and Islam are two of several muslims running for Congress in the 2020 elections.
