Obdulia Sanchez Released From Prison Early

The woman who livestreamed her sister’s death, after wrecking while driving under the influence, has been released from prison early.

In July 2017 Obdulia Sanchez was driving under the influence, while livestreaming on Instagram, throwing up gang signs, and rapping along to music, when she wrecked into a field, killing her 14-year-old sister, Jacqueline Sanchez. Instead of immediately calling 911 for help, Obdulia continued to livestream, showing her sister’s dead body.

Once Obdulia finally called 911, she told the dispatcher “Can you come pick up my sister, she is f*cking dead. Man, I just crashed and I was DUI. Can you please come pick us up?”

When the first responders arrived to the scene, Obdulia yelled and spit at them. She resisted arrest and fought with the officers and attempted to kick a paramedic in the face. Obdulia stated to the first responders that if she went to jail, Prop 57 would help her get released early.

After the wreck, another video from the day of the wreck surfaced. Shortly before the wreck, Jacqueline is seen on video begging her sister to stop driving recklessly. Jacqueline cried to Obdulia “You’re gonna kill me!”

Another video of Obdulia with a Corona in her hand, while driving before the wreck also surfaced. Though in court, Obdulia’s lawyer claimed she was not under the influence.

After Obdulia’s arrest, she was seen at multiple different court dates laughing and smiling.

While in jail, and only one month after her sister’s death, Obdulia wrote a 4 page letter to a reporter, telling him her plans for the future. She plans to make an album, start a clothing line, open a boxing gym. In the letter, Obdulia also wrote in the letter “I made that video because I knew I had more than 5,000 followers. It was the only way my sister would get a decent burial. I would never expose my sister like that. I anticipated the public donating money because my family isn’t rich.” She went on to say “Sorry for making that video. I look awful but I accomplished my goal.”

Sanchez was sentenced to 6 years and 4 months in prison, but due to California laws, Sanchez was released after only serving 2 years and 2 months of her sentence.

Since being released, Obdulia has wasted no time on growing her social media following. She has at least two Instagram accounts that she is actively posting to. And some of the posts are very disturbing. After being released from prison Obdulia posted a selfie of herself in a car, with the caption “I’M OUT SIS 💯🖕🏽”
