New Jersey Governor Attends Pakistan Independence Day Celebration

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently attended the 5th annual Pakistan Independence Day Celebration in Edison New Jersey.

During the celebration Murphy gave a speech in which he stated that New Jersey is stronger and more vibrant because of the Pakistani American community. Murphy praised New Jersey for having the largest Pakistani American community of any state in the United States.

After the celebration, Murphy wrote on Twitter:

Great time celebrating today at the 5th Annual Pakistan Day Parade! Our Pakistani American community enriches our state and we are deeply grateful for all they contribute to New Jersey.

According to reports, The parade featured over a dozen floats, ethnic bands, and cultural music.  A crowd of nearly 25,000  people attended the celebration.
