Nigerian immigrant heads to runoff election in Nashville

Zulfat Suara is heading to the runoff election for Nashville Metro Council at Large in Tennessee.

Suara, a Nigerian immigrant, came to the United States in the 1990’s and settled in Nashville in 1998.

Suara is chair of the American Muslim Advisory Council (AMAC)

Suara has been a speaker at the Nashville Women’s March each year since 2017.

Suara advanced to the general runoff election on September 12, 2019, after advancing from the general election on August 1, 2019.
