Muslim man wins re-election in Wisconsin

Samba Baldeh, a muslim immigrant from Gambia, has been re-elected as alderman in district 17 for the Madison City Council, in Wisconsin. Baldeh was first elected in 2015.

Baldeh defeated James Creighton Mitchell Jr. in the general election on April 2, 2019. Baldeh received 1,898 votes, while Mitchell only received 620 votes.
