Muslim Man Wins Democratic Primary Election For Virginia State Senate

Qasim Rashid, a muslim immigrant from Pakistan, won the Democratic Primary Election for Virginia State Senate, District 28.

According to the Virginia Department of Elections website, Rashid received 3,302 / 60.06% votes, while his Democratic opponent, Laura Sellers received 2,196 / 39.94% votes. Rashid will face Republican incumbent Richard H. Stuart in the General Election.
