Muslim Candidate Defeated in Virginia State Senate Election

Sharafat Hussain-Babu, a Bangladeshi muslim man, has been defeated in the Democratic primary election for Virginia  State Senate, District 33.

According to the Virginia Department of Elections website, Hussain-Babu received 1,539 / 15.70% votes, while his opponent, Jennifer B. Boysko received 8,261 / 84.30% votes.
