Keith Ellison was recently elected Attorney General in Minnesota. On Janurary 7th, Ellison was sworn into office with his hand on the quran.
Ellison made history in 2007, being the first muslim Congressman in the U.S. Ellison was sworn in on the quran in 2007 as well.
Though, this time Ellison didn’t use a regular quran. He instead held his hand on an oversized quran, that later he signed. This same quran has been used at the swearing in ceremonies of Ilhan Omar in 2016, Hodan Hassan in 2018 and Mohamed Noor in 2018.
