Georgia Politician Sworn Into Office On The Autobiography Of Malcolm X

26 year old Mariah Parker was elected to Athens-Clarke County Commissioner, District 2. Instead of taking her oath on the Bible or the constitution, Mariah chose to take her oath on The Autobiography Of Malcolm X.

According to reports, Parker stated: “They asked if they would like the Bible and I said no. My mother asked if there was a copy of the Constitution around. No. I wanted Malcolm’s book. I think they saw it coming.”

Parker says that Malcolm X’s life story inspires and informs her world view.

Parker won the election by only 13 votes.

Parker was sworn into office in June of 2018.

  1. Suck a beautiful outlook and ideas but the book and the fist sends it out WRONG. It takes America back in time to when things were not always right. You should still pay honor to the ALL MIGHTY not just the black mighty. 🤜 were needed due to the anger of the Times when u couldn’t hold this current position. Lead forward and know that body language is also a form of communication and you stance in the photo has over shadowed the BEAUTY IN YOUR WORDS, PLAN AND IDEAS 😪SMH

  2. Ok now she is a racist and an idiot. Malcolm X was a racist and hated white people. What the hell is this country coming to? If she couldn’t be sworn in on The Bible, then she shouldn’t be allowed in public office. Shame on you Athens Georgia. You should of told her to use the Bible, when do they ever give you a choice. They want to be in public office to ruin this country one state at a time. If you can’t support our President and if you can’t support our flag that our troops sacrificed to defend, and complain about our country, it’s simple, get the hell out….
