Hamtramck Michigan has a Muslim-Majority City Council

In 2015 Hamtramck City Council became the first Muslim-majority City Council. Mohammed Hassan, Abu Musa, Anam Miah and Saad Almasmari are four of six council members. According to reports, three of the men are of Bangladeshi descent and one Yemeni.
