Meanwhile, Mayor Bill De Blasio is calling this an “attempted” terrorist attack and claiming NYC is a target because they prove a society of many faiths can work. No, De Blasio, your city is a target because you worry more about protecting the enemy instead of your own citizens. Two terrorist attacks in NYC, in less than 2 months! How is that religion of peace working out for you, Bill?
Mayor Bill De Blasio made a statement on Facebook saying:
Let’s be clear – this was an attempted terrorist attack. Thank God the perpetrator did not achieve his ultimate goals. Our first responders were there quickly and the only injuries we know of right now are minor.
We are a target because we prove a society of many faiths and many backgrounds can work – we show democracy can work. But we are the most resilient place on earth. We’ve proved it time and time again.
The NYPD will secure all transit hubs and major sites in this city. You’ll see additional officers out in force. When you see something, say something. Speak up because you could be saving lives.
