Riverside, CA – At around 11am this morning, a man took a teacher hostage at Castle View Elementary School. Linda Montgomery was held hostage for 6 hours before police rescued her. After negotiators had no contact and not heard from the victim during conversations with the suspect, police decided to enter the classroom.
Upon entering the classroom, the suspect was shot by a police officer. It is unknown how many times, or where he was shot. Condition of suspect is also unknown but he is in the hospital.
Linda Montgomery is safe but has been taken to the hospital to be checked out.
Police do not know motive yet.
