According to reports, two Georgia teenagers have been arrested after police found a homemade bomb. Alfred Dupree and Victoria McCurley are accused of planning a bombing at Etowah High School.
Alfred Dupree and Victoria McCurley are both 17-year-olds who attended Etowah High School. Both are in custody, after police received a tip about the students plans. The unknown person who gave the tip, claimed to have seen a journal belonging to one of the teens, that included a ‘hit list’ of students they planned to murder. After receiving the tip, police served search warrants at both of the teens homes. Police found a homemade incendiary device, a journal and an undetermined powder substance.
According to reports, both teens appeared in court Thursday and were denied bond. They are being held at the Cherokee County Detention Center. They are being charged with attempted murder, terroristic threats and acts, criminal attempt to commit arson, and possession and/or transportation of destructive device/explosive with intent to kill, injure or destroy any public building. They are both being charged as adults.
The Sheriff said that if this had not been prevented, it could have been “another Columbine.”
