In September, a video surfaced of a Georgia teacher comparing Make America Great Again shirts to swastikas. After comparing the shirts to swastikas, the math teacher, Lyn Orletsky made students wearing MAGA shirts leave the classroom.
Lyn was immediately placed on paid leave by River Ridge High School in Woodstock. A substitute teacher has replaced her since being on leave.
Nearly a month later, Lyn has resigned. According to reports, Lyn said,
“After attacks on my character and threats on my life, I have made the decision to resign from my teaching position at River Ridge High School.” Lyn went on to say, “While in hindsight I would have handled the situation differently, the outcry over this incident has been disproportionate to the event itself.”
