The Santa Monica Police tweeted warning people to avoid Santa Monica Pier until further notice. The tweet read, “Please avoid the #SantaMonicaPier until further notice due to police activity.”
A bit later the police department tweeted telling people in the area to leave saying, “Santa Monica Police activity around the Santa Monica Pier. Please evacuate and avoid the entire Pier area and Ocean Ave. #SMAlert”
The third, and latest tweet said that there was a bomb threat. The tweet read, “SMPD can confirm a bomb threat was received regarding the Santa Monica Pier. Please continue to stay away. More info to follow.”
