According to Fox News President Trump is considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio, the controversial Sheriff who was recently found guilty of criminal contempt for defying orders to stop traffic patrols targeting suspected illegal immigrants.

Fox News reports:

“I am seriously considering a pardon for Sheriff Arpaio,” the president said Sunday, during a conversation with Fox News at his club in Bedminster, N.J. “He has done a lot in the fight against illegal immigration. He’s a great American patriot and I hate to see what has happened to him.”

Trump said the pardon could happen in the next few days, should he decide to do so.

And of course, now liberals are freaking out. They’ve started petitions to stop the pardon and are planning protests in some areas.

The Fresno County Republican Party has invited Sheriff Joe Arpaio to be a guest speaker at the annual 2nd Amendment BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 23rd. Liberals are demanding he be uninvited, and planning to protest his arrival. 

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 5 and could face up to six months in jail.
